The way to go

The way to go

Steps quickening, panting, scurrying
Hands on the clock face ticking louder
Signaling the dearth of time

Work calls
With tar, smoke and burning rubber

And then I see

Two tiny pairs of feet

Walking hand in hand

Basking in life

Just so

  1. ” Two tiny pairs of feet , Walking hand in hand “….

What a sweet pic, this is ! An insightful poem 🙂 Yes, a walk is never lonely when we hold hands….and then, it is a walk to remember !

  2. You have given a great answer to the question – which way to go? The question sort of disappears or maybe takes a different form when there is a hand to hold on to, or a hand to hold. Lovely post, Shailja!

  3. Sometimes we get so caught up with the pace of life we forget to just be. Love the words and the picture that goes with it. I'm spending this week and the next just being…and so far, I'm loving it! 🙂

  4. Glad you thought the poem was insightful. I never really planned on it. It just happened. Sometimes, I think that is the answer to everything. Just let things happen. Touched that you liked my quote.

  5. I like how you say that the question takes a different form! That's true, Beloo. The minute we know that we have a companion, any journey seems more pleasant. Beautiful insight. Thanks for the comment!

  6. Indeed, that's all there is to life, isn't there, PB? I loved my two weeks of complete abstinence from the blog. It refreshed me no end and yet, now that I am back, I am enjoying it just as much. We need our breaks, our pauses to make us think and reflect more. Have a good break!

  7. Amazing take on the prompt! Which way to go- is a question we often ponder on at many stages of our lives. And if someone is thr to walk hand in hand it is going to be a smoother path! Lovely write as always, Shailaja 🙂

  8. Got to hold my grandson's hand today while walking down the street. Love the feel of that soft little hand in mine and all that it represents. Thank you for a great use of your prompt
