Do you have an FAQ page for your blog? Please say ‘Yes’.
And in this post, I am going to tell you why this is crucial! This blog has traveled a long way from the time that it began.
From sporadic posts every few months to regular posts now, I look forward to the changes that are coming into effect from the new year.
Over the last 6 months, I have been receiving requests from various people. Some of them wanted to write guest posts on my blog.
Others wanted to advertise their products. Many more wanted me to write product/ book reviews.
I realised that it would be far simpler to direct them to a static page, instead of replying to individual requests by e-mail.
After a lot of delay, I finally got down to drafting my FAQ page.

Effectively, your FAQ page must answer TWO important questions:
- What you hope to gain from the blog
- How you hope others will benefit from your content
Keep in mind that I began as a blogger who did this for fun and relaxation mostly. But I have started writing sponsored content, brand collaborations and am thinking of running ads on the blog soon.
Your terms and conditions would be vastly different if you run a website for a business, as I do now.
What my FAQ page contains:
- Guest posting by other bloggers on my site
- Request for guest posts by me on other sites
- Product reviews to be featured on my site
- Inclusion of Promotional/ Commercial/ Sponsored posts on my site
- Purchase of Advertising space on my site
Key points to remember:
- Always be ready to tweak the FAQ every month or so, depending on the changing dynamics of your blog.
- Include links to existing features (reviews/ guest posts) in the FAQ. Make sure you retain the same label for future posts, so all the data can be viewed at a single glance.
- Make sure you insert a contact e-mail address for people to reach out to you quickly. Ensure that this is also available as a stand-alone ‘Contact Me‘ page.
I understand that the FAQ page makes sense if you are keen to monetize the blog.
But trust me, even if you are blogging for leisure, make sure you have one handy on the website, right alongside your About Me page.
So, after you’ve read through this, I have only one question: If you don’t have an FAQ page yet, why don’t you?
*I will be doing a follow-up post on why you need a media kit and what it should contain, so stay tuned!

This does make a lot of sense. Makes life so much simpler. Thanks for sharing.
Doing it today. Great idea, even though I have a contact me page there is no faq page.
Thanks for the inputs, you have made it easy to do.
It has never even occurred to me to add a FAQ page. Great idea!
Great idea Shailaja:-) It looks good, I support anything that makes a blog more reader-friendly, and this is a good tool:-)
Thats a Novel idea S!
I can't help wondering: If you are so organised in something you do for fun and relaxation, how organised would you be if you did this professionally?!!
Probably wouldn't have half as much fun doing it then, Pro 😀 Thank you for stopping by. I have been reading yours 🙂
Its a great idea. Let me think over it too
Thanks Arvind!
Oh I remember you asked me to do this. I really need to. Thanks for the reminder.
PS: Did you do that post on the media kit?
Hey Tulika, not yet. That’s on the agenda for 2018 🙂 Will surely update you when it goes live.
I have Work with me and Guest Post pages along with About abs Contact pages on my blog so I guess that pretty much takes care of the questions. Since all my blogs are monetized, I do believe that it is important to address each one of these questions.
Yes absolutely. You’re all sorted 🙂 And your food blog is really picking up. Good to see!
Believe me I have been procrastinating this for over a year… This is agood reminder that I should get it done.
I won’t be monetizing my blog so I guess it would just be guest blogs and accolades.
Yes definitely do it. Even if it isn’t for monetization purposes, it still helps to have it all written down in one place.
I hadn’t;t thought of this before, but it is something that I will look at. Thanks for the tip! 🙂
You’re welcome! I am glad it helped 🙂
